Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra has taken notice of a girl child’s death due to alleged absence of a doctor at Rustam hospital and sought a report from Mardan district health officer.
He said that strict action would be taken against those involved.
Health and Finance Minister Timur Saleem Jhagra while expressing sympathy with the parents of the girl child who died due to alleged absence of a doctor at Rustam hospital said that nothing is more valuable than human life.
He said that the provincial government has introduced a number of reforms in the health sector and all out efforts would be placed to avoid such incidents in the future. Mr Taimur said that the government provides attractive salaries to health professionals and doctors in remote areas to reduce doctor’s shortfall.
Taking notice of the incident, Timur Jhagra said that DHO Mardan Dr Kachkol has been directed to immediately start an inquiry and submit a report within five days.
He said that the bereaved family will be heard and justice will be done, adding that the doctor’s statement in this regard has already come to light but the action plan will be decided only after the report of the inquiry team.
