Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information and Public Relations Minister Shafi Jan has expressed grief over the loss of lives in flash flood and lightning incidents in Khyber and Mardan districts, assuring affected families of government support.
In a condolence statement, the provincial minister said six people, including a woman and a child, lost their lives after a vehicle was swept away by floodwaters in the Landi Kotal and Jamrud areas of District Khyber. He added that 18 people were injured in the incident, while Rescue 1122 personnel successfully rescued several individuals.
Shafi Jan also expressed sorrow over the deaths of two children due to a lightning strike in Mardan, describing the incident as tragic. He said two women injured in the incident were being provided the best available medical treatment.
The minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government stood with the affected families during the difficult time and would extend all possible assistance.
He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased, patience for the bereaved families and speedy recovery of the injured.
