PESHAWAR: A special clean-up drive has been launched across the province under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Department here on Sunday. In this regard, instructions have been issued by the Provincial Minister for Local Government and Secretary Local Government to TMOs and Assistant Directors in all Districts and Tehsils, including the newly integrated areas. It has been made clear to them that in addition to routine cleaning, they should also run special hygiene campaigns so that piles of dirt are not seen in the bazaars, streetcars and bus stands and the garbage is disposed of in a timely manner. Funds have also been released for computerized registration of date of birth registration as per the agreement reached with NADRA at the level of all councils under the Local Government Department. Similarly, the process of vaccination of employees across the province under the Local Government Department has also been expedited. Local Government Minister Akbar Ayub Khan has directed the concerned authorities to complete the vaccination process ahead of schedule. APP
