Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food, Zahir Shah Toru, visited the proposed site of a protective embankment (retaining wall) project along the Kalpani Nulla at Toru (Takia Kalay). Officials from the relevant departments also accompanied him during the visit. Speaking on the occasion, Zahir Shah Toru said that the construction of the retaining wall is essential for the local population, as every year during the monsoon season, flooding in the Kalpani Stream causes severe damage to nearby houses and crops. He directed the concerned authorities to commence practical work on the project at the earliest so that the local community can be protected from the risks of flooding and longstanding issues faced by the public can be addressed in a timely manner.
