KP Olympic Association finalizes preparations for National Games, increases medalist prizes

A special General Council meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association was held at the Arena Hall of Peshawar Sports Complex in the context of preparations for the upcoming National Games.
Several key decisions were made regarding the event’s organization and athlete selection.
The meeting was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jihan along with Director General Sports Abdul Nasir Khan.
President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association Haroon Zafar, former President Syed Aqil Shah, Senior Vice President Qamar Zaman, Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Butt, officials from various sports associations and representatives from the Department of Sports were also present on the occassion.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Syed Fakhar Jihan emphasized the importance of transparent trials and merit-based selection to ensure that the best athletes represent the province and maximize medal wins.
He also announced an increase in cash prizes for National Games medalists adding that,Gold Medalists will receive PKR 500,000,Silver Medalists will receive PKR 300,000 and Bronze Medalists will receive PKR 250,000.
The minister assured that all necessary facilities will be provided to athletes to help them and they perform at their best in this mega event.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association officials, including President Haroon Zafar, former President Syed Aqil Shah and Secretary General Zulfiqar Ali Butt, urged all associations to focus on training and improving athletes for the National Games.
They announced that a final training camp will be held after Eid to ensure the best possible preparation.During the meeting, representatives from all sports associations expressed full support for the decisions made and reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership.
