KP PA, UNFPA form forum to enhance cooperation

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has established a special forum to enhance cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
This initiative aims to advance the agenda of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) at the provincial level, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and UNFPA, said a press release issued here on Friday.
The forum will be chaired by Iftikhar Ullah Jan, MPA (PK-64), with members including Hamid Ur Rehman, MPA (PK-19), Abdul Kabir Khan, MPA (PK-27), Shafi Ullah, MPA (PK-16), Taj Muhammad, MPA (PK-35), Aurangzeb Khan, MPA (PK-94), Ishfaq Ahmad, MPA (PK-89), Arbab Muhammad Usman Khan, MPA (PK-75), Shehla Bano, MPA (WRS-IV), and Nelofar Babar, MPA (WRS-V). Additionally, Syed Waqar Shah, Special Secretary (Administration), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, will serve as the Secretary to the forum.
The Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati has termed this initiative as a significant step towards sustainable development, addressing population-related challenges, and effective policy-making in the province.
He stated that the forum will play a key role in policy formulation, gender equality, reproductive health, and the efficient implementation of population-related policies.
