PESHAWAR: The Department of Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment celebrated International Day of Older Persons 2025 in Peshawar, in collaboration with the Foundation for Ageing and Inclusive Development (FAID). Provincial Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah announced special housing and travel facilities for senior citizens and strict laws against disrespect or mistreatment of parents. He termed the elderly as national assets, emphasizing that serving them brings divine blessings and social progress. Advisor Wazir Zada Kailash reiterated the government’s commitment to minority rights and social inclusion.
