KP, UNICEF to strengthen ties on child health

UNICEF Chief of Field Office Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Radosław Rzehak called on Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Shafi Jan to discuss enhanced collaboration on child welfare initiatives.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on improving access to quality education and a healthier environment across the province, as well as strengthening joint efforts to tackle child malnutrition.
They agreed to reinforce partnership mechanisms to ensure better outcomes for children, particularly those living in underserved and vulnerable communities.
Reaffirming their shared commitment, both sides emphasised scaling up joint initiatives aimed at securing a better future for children through integrated and sustainable interventions.
Speaking on the occasion, Shafi Jan said the provincial government remains committed to implementing sustainable policies for maternal and child health and ensuring access to education for every child.
He underscored the need to further enhance collaboration to effectively address challenges faced by marginalised and underprivileged segments of society.
The special assistant added that the government is taking comprehensive measures to safeguard children’s fundamental rights and improve access to essential services in remote areas.
He noted that expanding international partnerships in health, education and child protection remains a key priority for the provincial government.
