KPRA conducts workshop for withholding agents in Abbottabad

To increase tax compliance and build capacity of government departments in tax collection and withholding, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) held a workshop for the officials of government departments and representatives of private entities in the district.
Officials of KP Forest Department in Hazara Division took part in the training workshop.
KPRA Additional Collector North Region Noor Wali in his welcome remarks thanked the participants for attending the workshop. He shed light on the importance of taxes for the development of the country and KP.
“We need your assistance to increase our tax collection and ensure tax compliance. We have to work in close coordination to ensure complete tax compliance and my team will be available to assist you,” he said.
Assistant Collector KPRA North Region Waqar Ahmed gave a detailed presentation on the KP Sales Tax Withholding Regulations 2020 and trained the participants on the basics of taxation. He explained the whole process of how to calculate, withhold sales tax from the service providers and how to submit their sales tax returns.
KPRA Director Legal, Tax Policy and Reforms Muhammad Ashfaq in the closing remarks thanked the participants and spoke about the importance of taxes for development and the role of withholding agents.
“The money which we are collecting through sales tax on services is spent on developmental schemes so we have to work together,” he said, adding that more workshops for the understanding and learning of officers of government organizations and representatives of private entities.
The participants of the training workshop thanked KPRA for providing them the opportunity to learn and assured that they will try their best to ensure tax compliance and play their part in the progress and development of the country.
