KP’s caretaker minister for education reviews performance of PSRA

An important meeting held here on Wednesday with caretaker minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elementary and secondary education department Rehmat Salam Khattak in the chair, reviewed the performance and objectives of the private school regulatory authority.
Secretary education Mutasim Billah Shah, Special Secretary of the department Barkatullah Khan, managing director (MD) private schools regulatory authority (PSRA) Syeda Tanzila, additional secretary Abdul Akram and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The forum briefed the caretaker minister about the performance and overall objective of the authority and informed him about the salient features of the authority in the province.
Rehamat Salam Khattak issued instructions to officials of the department concerned and PSRA that steps should be taken to reduce the gap between private and government run-schools in terms of providing quality education and environment for the students.
“Gap between government and private schools should be kept to a minimum. Attention should be given to improvement of government schools as development of the nation is linked to our next general education,” he said.
Rehmat Salam Khattak issued instructions to the authority regarding the registration of private schools that registration with the authority of the schools should not be too strict in rooms, halls and other works so as to ensure the registration of more schools and schools.
The private schools which charge high fees from the children should provide 100 percent facilities to their students, he added and warned of strict action against those found to be negligent of the rules and regulations.
Mr Khattak directed the senior officials of the elementary and secondary education department to complete the election process of PSRA as early as possible and ensure the establishment of the board of the authority within one month effectively.
