The land of Khyber is enriched with sports talent however shortage of facilities has wasted talents in various games in Landi Kotal.Grievances have been conveyed to the parliamentarians and concerned officials but in avail.
The views were expressed by the General Secretary Khyber Sports Club Kaleemullah Shinwari,officials of Kunj Ground Committee and stars football players including Bilal Afridi,Amanullah,Sajjad,Irshad Afridi,Asad Shinwari and others while talking in “Meet the Press” program held in Landi Kotal press club district Khyber on Thursday.
They said that God-given sports talent was available to local players of different games but due to lack of sports facilities and patronage, they were wasted.
The football players regretted that dozens of shining football players exhibited their talent in various departments’ teams but the concerned department had turned blind eyes towards their problems that was unfair.
Since long we have been seeking for leveling the lonely ground at Government High School, Landi Kotal for play, provision of potable water and installing of lighting systems at the ground but the sports department has failed so far to supply the facilities.
They went on that because of unknown reasons, construction work on the sports complex in Landi Kotal was not initiated although funds had been allocated two years back.
They urged for provision of all facilities being enjoyed by the players of down towns in the country to save the sports talents in Landi Kotal.
