Lacrosse Training Program held in Bajaur

On the directive of Syed Salar Jahan, President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association, grassroots-level workshops are being organized across the province to promote the sport of lacrosse. As part of the initiative, lacrosse sticks are being distributed free of cost to encourage participation and growth in the sports.
In Bajaur, a training workshop was organized by Mehran Ali, Secretary of the Bajaur Lacrosse Association, in collaboration with Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Shahid Ali and the District Sports Officer. The workshop trained 30 players and introduced them to various training drills. Lacrosse, which is an Olympic game and also the national sport of Canada, boasts a history of over 300 years. It is widely played in regions of the United States and continues to grow in popularity.
District Sports Officer Bajaur Rahid Gul Malagori, Tehseenullah, and several other officials from the sports sector were present at the event. Tajfur Zareen, Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association, delivered a lecture to the players, explaining techniques such as ball pickup, shooting, passing, tackling, face-off, fouls, and various training drills.
He also spoke about the development and future of the sport. A total of 30 players participated in the training program. At the conclusion of the event, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association distributed lacrosse equipment, shields, and certificates among the players.
In his concluding remarks, Sports Officer Rahid Gul Malagori stated that players in Bajaur would be provided opportunities to compete in various sports. He emphasized that it is their priority to organize competitions for all sports in the region and to promote emerging games like lacrosse in Bajaur.
