Lahore Master Plan prepared: first draft submitted to Punjab govt

LAHORE: The first draft of the Lahore Master Plan has been prepared with the development of including three other districts—Kasur, Nankana and Sheikhupura—in it. The draft has been submitted to the Punjab Government and Dr Salman Shah, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Economy, was also briefed about it. In the first draft of the Lahore Master Plan, expansion of Canal Road, Mall Road, Walton Road and Shalimar Link Road has been made mandatory in proportion to the population. It was informed in the briefing that the population of Lahore will reach 38 million by 2050. According to a JICA study in Lahore, it was proposed to build a public transport system for the citizens.
