LAHORE: The Punjab caretaker government has approved first diplomatic enclave in Lahore which will be set up inside the Central Business Authority. The US Embassy has sought 110 kanals of land near Bab-i-Pakistan in Central Business District (CBD). The CBD forwarded the case of foreign embassies seeking land in Lahore to the caretaker government. The Punjab government tasked the CBD to also persuade Türkiye, China, UAE and Iran besides the US. The sources said the CBD had demanded one billion rupees per kanal from the US Embassy. American deputy chief mission and US consul general in Lahore had already visited the site. The caretaker government had directed the additional chief secretary to fulfil the legal requirements in this regard. Through diplomatic enclave, the CBD project will become city’s most appealing project as far as investment is concerned. DNA
