The petition against the proceedings for removing Imran Khan as chairman of PTI has been fixed for hearing.
A five members bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) presided over by Justice Shahid Bilal Hussain will take up the case for hearing on April 12.
Imran Khan has challenged Election Commission (EC) proceedings in high court.
It is pertinent to mention here that Justice Muzamil Akhtar of LHC had referred the case pertaining to removal of Imran Khan from the slot of party chairman to Justice Sajd Mehmood for further hearing.
Citizen Muhammad Junaid had made respondents Imran Khan, Election Commission and others in his petition filed through advocate Afaq Ahmad.
The petitioner has taken plea in the petition that EC had declared Imran Khan disqualified from NA-95 Mianwali. Legal proceedings was initiated against him from December 07, 2022. EC had disqualified Imran Khan for concealing Tosha Khana facts.
It was further said in the petition court has earlier disqualified Nawaz Sharif and he remained no more president of PML-N after his disqualification. Likewise no one can remain head of party following one’s disqualification.
The petitioner has further said he resorted to EC but no action was taken on his application.
He prayed the court to order for removing Imran Khan from slot of chairman of PTI.
