Lahore High Court (LHC) while giving last chance to IG police Punjab in connection with recovery of journalist Imran Riaz has remarked if journalist is not presented on the very day then court will take its decision.
Petition filed by father of Imran Riaz came up for hearing before Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Wednesday.
IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar appeared in the court and sought another chance in connection with recovery of Imran Riaz.
CH LHC while expressing resentment maintained “ I am hearing your responses since the last five months with patience.. Now I am running out of my patience .
The CJ LHC inquired from Mian Wali Ishfaq counsel for the petitioner if you are willing then I give chance.
Mian Ali Ishfaq showed his willingness for giving chance to the IG Police Punjab.
The petitioner took the plea his son Imran Riaz was abducted and he was not produced before any court.
He requested the court to order for recovery of his son.
During the hearing of the course IG Punjab and other officers appeared in the court.
The CJ LHC inquired from IG Punjab what progress has been made in the matter of recovery of Imran Riaz.
IG Punjab said as per court’s orders we have told to father of Imran Riaz and lawyers about the progress in connection with meeting of Imran Riaz with his father. We are heading on right direction in the matter.
The counsel for Imran Riaz said during the hearing of the case their investigation is moving in right direction. Headway can be made at any time in the case.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 26.
