Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday gave its verdict on ‘Parent Protection Ordinance 2021’ and ruled one year imprisonment and imposed fines on those who evict their parents out of their homes. According to Lahore High Court’s verdict, if the children are living in a rented house or in their own houses, it would be a crime to evict the parents. Per the verdict, parents can evict their children from their home at any time. In such case, the son or daughter will have to vacate the house in 7 days or face one month imprisonment. The Lahore High Court annulled the decisions of the Deputy Commissioner and the Appellate Court. The court also directed the Deputy Commissioner to take action as per law in the light of the court decision. Online
