LHC wraps up NAB pleas against PM, Maryam Nawaz being in-fructuous

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has wrapped up NAB pleas against Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz being in-fructuous. A two members bench of LHC presided over by Justice Amjid Rafiq took up NAB plea for hearing Monday. During the hearing of the case, Senior prosecutor of NAB Waris Ali Janjua informed the court Shehbaz Sharif has been acquitted from Asiana reference and Ramzan Sugar Mills reference in 2023. Therefore NAB plea filed against him has become in- fructuous. The court wrapped up NAB application being in-fuctuous. A two members bench of LHC presided over by justice Amjid Rafiq heard the application filed by NAB against CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz. Senior prosecutor NAB Waris Ali Janjua took the plea Maryam Nawaz has been acquitted in NAB reference. Therefore, NAB plea be wrapped up declaring it in- fructuous. The court while accepting NAB plea wrapped up the plea being in-fructuous It is pertinent to mention here LHC while approving bail plea of Maryam Nawaz in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case had ordered to release her while NAB had resorted to court in March 2020 for revocation of bail of Maryam Nawaz.
