Peshawar(PR):The Languages and Literature Unit of Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arranged a literary session with the titled “Our Literature and Contemporary requirements” The main theme of the session was “Literature’s role in social development” in historical Sethi House Peshawar.
The Languages and Literature specialist of DoC Akbar Hoti conducted the whole proceeding and also described the duties and responsibilities of Strengthening of Directorate of Culture.
He said 5 new units started for the strengthening of DoC. In these units Languages and Literature, New Media, Craft designs and visual arts, Creative economy, research and documentation and web developing has started start their responsibilities and the current session is the part of that activities.
On the occasion the most senior writers Aziz Ejaz, Noor Ul Amin Yousafzai, Prof Dr Muhammad Zubair Hasrat, Dr Salah Uddin, Qari Javed Iqbal, Dr Muhib Wazir, Awais Qarni, Dr Noor Ul Basar Aman, Yusaf Ali Dilsoz, Shams Momand, Sher Alam Shinwari, tok part in the session and exchanged their views, They said literature’s has vital role social development and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa we need to promote local languages and their literature for the development of society. It can be helpful for peace and solidarity.
They urged that writers already playing their role but they need state support in this regard. They give some recommendation to the DoC to allocate budget for literary and culture promotion and also for writers.
They appreciated the imitative of Language and Literature Unit of DoC. The media persons and journalist Ms Sana Ejaz and Shabir Jan were also participate the session and appreciated the DoC. The Project Director Naeem Safi welcomed the participants and given thanks notes on the occasion.
