Major crackdown by Peshawar police, huge cache of drugs seized

On the special instructions of CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar, successful operations are being carried out against the suspects involved in the illegal trade of ice, hashish and other drugs throughout the district.
Police claimed to have seized more than 30 kg of ice, more than 6 kg of heroin, 173 bottles of liquor.
During the ongoing crackdown, people selling the dangerous drug ice have been specially targeted.
During the first five months of this year, Peshawar Police registered 4726 cases and arrested 5289 suspects and seized more than 177 kg of ice, 866 kg of marijuana, more than 80 kg of marijuana.
Heroin, more than 49 kg of opium and 1564 bottles of liquor have also been recovered
CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar has directed to intensify the ongoing crackdown against drugs, he has directed to raise awareness among citizens at the public level in order to make the young generation especially students aware of the harmful effects of drugs.
Similarly, in order to further improve the ongoing crackdown, divisional SPs have also been assigned a special task by directing strict monitoring of elements involved in drug trafficking in the past.
