Man dies after falling into ravine while retrieving mobile phone in Lower Kohistan

KOHISTAN: Rescue 1122 officials on Sunday recovered the body of a man who died after falling into a deep ravine near RMB Chowk on the Karakoram Highway in Pattan area of Lower Kohistan during the late hours of Saturday night while retrieving his fallen cell phone. According to Rescue 1122, a disaster response team along with Emergency Medical Technicians rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. During the operation, rescuers found that the man had fallen from a significant height below the Karakoram Highway and died on the spot. Rescue officials, with the assistance of local residents, recovered the body and shifted it to THQ Hospital Pattan. After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over and dispatched to his native village. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Ilyas, son of Abdullah, a resident of South Waziristan. A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Lower Kohistan confirmed the incident and said the rescue operation was completed successfully despite difficult terrain and darkness. APP
