Marriott, Malik hold talks on climate deal execution

ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr Musadik Malik on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the Green Compact, a £35 million bilateral climate cooperation framework aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s resilience to climate change. According to an official statement, the meeting reviewed progress under the initiative and discussed its future direction.
The British high commissioner presented the Green Compact Action Plan and briefed the minister on its priorities and proposed areas of cooperation. Dr Malik said the framework should focus on initiatives capable of delivering tangible and high-impact benefits for people affected by climate-related challenges in Pakistan.
