Says country will progress only when there is justice
LAHORE
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president and chief organiser Maryam Nawaz on Thursday while holding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan responsible for death of party worker, said that the young generation can play its role in changing the fate of the country.
Addressing party’s youth leadership in Lahore on Thursday, the PML-N Chief Organizer said that the former prime minister is using youngsters for his politics instead of thinking about their future.
“If any party has a plan for the development of the youth, it is the PML-N,” she said adding that there will be large number of youth in the upcoming Parliament. “We do not believe in hollow slogans but practical work for the youth, adding that we have to provide opportunities for the youth.”
Ms Nawaz also demanded an investigation into the death of the youth outside Zaman Park and said that the country cannot progress without justice. The PTI claims one of its workers was killed, as the Lahore police launched baton-charge, tear gas shelling and water canon against the party’s rally over violation of Section 144 in the city. Punjab interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has cast doubts over the series of events that led to the alleged killing of the worker. Maryam Nawaz questioned what kind of leader hiding inside his house and pushed forward youths to be beaten up.
She claimed that youths and children were used as fuel for the rally, while the leader stayed at home. The PML-N leader questioned who will be responsible for the life lost during the event. An individual is brazenly creating chaos in the country, she claimed, adding there was no one to question him. Imran Khan takes decisions in an inebriated state, she taunted, adding now he is running away from accountability.
The PML-N leader alleged Imran Khan only accumulated wealth in his four years in power, and also claimed he bribed property tycoons.
Maryam Nawaz said it is unfortunate that Imran Khan is ready to lead a political rally but not to appear before to court in the cases against him. And, this is the difference between a lion and a coward, she added.
The PML-N leader said Imran Khan was always on the wrong side and is still describing false dreams to the youth. She said PTI’s Imran Khan does not recognize his daughter just for the sake of politics and how unfortunate that he doesn’t take the name of his daughter and Tyrian can also not take the name of her father.
She also taunted Imran Khan that if Imran Khan of Nawaz Sharif’s age had made good decisions, he would have been a grandfather today.
