PML-N senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz will return to Pakistan on January 28 to formally kick-start the election drive, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday. Sanaullah, who is in London on a private visit, told the media that the newly-appointed chief organiser would depart from London on January 27 and land at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on January 28 at 5pm. Maryam left for London in October last year to be with her father, who left the country in 2019 on the pretext of medical treatment and has been living in the United Kingdom ever since.

During her time abroad, Maryam also went to Geneva for throat surgery.
