Masood Khan takes oath as new AJK President

Muzaffarabad (Online): Masood Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and ex-diplomat, on Thursday took oath as 23rd president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Muhammad Azam Khan administered the oath at a simple but graceful ceremony in the lawn of AJK Legislative Assembly.
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Federal Minster for Kashmir Affairs & GilgatBaltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir, Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, AJK Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, high-ranking civil and military officials and a large of notables attended the ceremony.
Earlier on August 16, Masood Khan was elected as the new President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir during a joint session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Counci.
On occasion, Masood Khan called upon the Indian government to stop undue violence and atrocities on the innocent Kashmiris.
He was talking to media after taking oath as president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Masood Khan said the forth-coming generations of Kashmiris will never forgive India for the treatment it has meted out to the people of valley.
He said resolution of Kashmir dispute, good governance and development is our agenda.
He commended that the government and people of Pakistan have always extended their full moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.
