ISLAMABAD
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said he considers legislation regarding the youths below 18 years un-Islamic.
He said this while addressing joint session of parliament here Friday.
He said had this legislation been sent to Council for Islamic Ideology (CII) then it would have been better.
“ I will violate your law. I will arrange weddings of the youths below 18 years.
I am recording my strong protest in the house. We will not allow such laws to run in this country. I am against your this mindset which has enacted this law.
He said if there is any matter of Shariah. it should be referred to CII but here is written on the back side of the law that it is UN or IMF condition.
We have taken oath of the constitution of Pakistan and not manifesto of UN.
The way you have made constitutional amendment I declare I will violate them openly. I will arrange marriages of 15 and 16 and 12 years old youths. I myself will become part of this process so that legislation by government could be challenged. .
Talking about the board of peace he said has the house ever deliberated over it this movement forward is being made to the borders of Pakistan..
He demanded a resolution be brought in the house and board of peace be rejected on the basis of its specific conditions.
He said Prime Minister has not taken cabinet into confidence on this matter and this all proceedings is not in the national interest.
