ISLAMABAD: Renowned religious scholar, author, speaker, and founder of several educational institutions of the Indian sub-continent Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Islahi died at a hospital in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), India on Tuesday. Islahi, who had been admitted to a hospital a few days back due to heart and respiratory problems, was one of the most eminent Ulemas of the Islamic world. Born in district Attock of Pakistan in 1932, Maulana Islahi was a member of the consultative body of Jamaat-e Islami Hind. He was also the chief patron of the Project “Why Islam” of the Islamic Circle of North America. His thoughts had the influence of Maulana Maududi, Amin Ahsan Islahi, and Abdul Hayyee Lucknawi. He left behind a treasure of knowledge that would continue to quench the thirst of knowledge seekers all over the world.
