SC gives time to Punjab government to file reports

Supreme Court (SC) has given time to Punjab government to file reports during hearing of May 9 attacks on military installations in Rawalpindi case.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi remarked if thing is this then we will call our judicial officer and hear stance, We can not abolish penalty without issuing notice. It will be appropriate to get directions again on the appeals regarding transfer of case. He gave these remarks while presiding over 3-member bench of SC during hearing of appeal pleas Wednesday. During the hearing, Additional Prosecutor General (APG) Punjab sought time for giving arguments on the appeal pleas in connection with cancellation of bail pleas. He said we want to file JIT reports and we will give arguments in its light. The court gave time to Punjab government for filing reports.
The CJP Yahya Afridi remarked some appeal pleas relate to transfer of case. Appeal pleas for transfer of case have become ineffective. APG Punjab said judge of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has been transferred. There are 11 applications for transfer. Fine amounting to Rs 2 lac each was imposed in all of them. Remarks against Prosecutor General Punjab have been given in the decision.
The CJP remarked some money should be deposited by you. Ahmad Raza Gillani said as a prosecutor it is troublesome that it should be asked to impede judicial proceedings. The CJP Yahya Afridi remarked if the thing is this then we will hear stance of our judicial officer by calling him. We cannot abolish fine without issuing notice to the respondents. It will be appropriate to get directives again on the appeals related to transfer of case.
Additional Prosecutor General Punjab said May 9 cases are fixed tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The CJP Yahya Afridi remarked we will see tomorrow the cases of tomorrow. Punjab prosecution has resorted to SC for cancellation of decisions of bail of different accused persons.
