Meeting held; employees, personnel of civil departments to perform duty for peaceful elections

The caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a move towards gearing up for the upcoming general elections 2024, a meeting was held under the leadership of the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to assess election preparations and security matters.
Officials from various administrative departments, including the Additional Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry, participated in the meeting held in Peshawar.
Commissioners from all divisions, deputy commissioners, and district and regional police officers through out the province joined the meeting via video link, said spokesman for Home and Tribal Department here on Saturday.
Detailed discussions took place during the session regarding security arrangements during the electoral process.
On Election Day, a substantial police force will be deployed to ensure the security of polling stations in Peshawar.
Following the directives of the Chief Secretary, officials from other relevant departments and civilian defense personnel will collaborate with district police officers to assist the police in maintaining order.
The employees and personnel who will perform their duties in this regard, from the Forest Department 1200, Wildlife 700, Excise 500, Anti-Corruption 270, Women’s Welfare 1977, and Health 12,000 female employees departments, while totaling 4125, volunteers with out any political parties affiliation will be available for assistance from civilian defense.
The Relief Department received instructions to verify the credentials of civilian defense supporters without political affiliations.
CCTV cameras will be installed at all highly sensitive polling stations in Peshawar.
Clear directives were issued to ensure the smooth conduct of elections in 23 snow-affected districts, with arrangements made for those residing in remote areas affected by snowfall to cast their votes.
Funds have been allocated by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to facilitate accessibility to polling stations in Peshawar.
The Chief Secretary assured that the Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission would be strictly enforced.

Expressing satisfaction with the measures taken so far, the Chief Secretary emphasized that these efforts are crucial for the success of General Elections 2024 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
