Meeting of Senate Committee on Aviation held

ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Aviation held here on Wednesday with Senator Hidayatullah in the chair, deliberated regarding the arrival of a charter flight from a foreign country. The meeting commenced with deliberation on the point of public importance regarding ‘Chartered flight from India on 15th August 2022’.The matter was raised by Senator Saifullah Abro. The forum was briefed by Khaqan Murtaza, Director General Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) chartered flight came from India with three crew members on board and 12 passengers were boarded on flight including two USA nationals and ten Pakistani nationals from Karachi airport. He maintained that the flight was bound for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Senator Saifullah Abro alleged that the flight was used for money laundering and two American nationals were actually the family members of Former finance minister. Major General Adnan Asif, Director General Airport Security Force (ASF) informed the committee that the belongings of passengers were properly checked as per the rules and regulations. DLP Report
