Meeting reviews drinking water, sewerage schemes for Peshawar region

An important meeting regarding new development schemes of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for Central Region Peshawar was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer (Centre) and (XEN), Central Region Peshawar. In the meeting, the Provincial Minister was given a detailed briefing on the new development schemes in Central Region Peshawar. The briefing focused on the provision of safe drinking water, improvement of sewerage systems, effectiveness of the schemes, existing requirements, and priority projects aimed at addressing public issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan said that provision of clean drinking water and improved sewerage facilities is among the top priorities of the current provincial government.
He issued directives to the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of work on new schemes and ensure competition of all projects with transparency, high quality standards, and within the prescribed timelines.
The Provincial Minister further directed that planning of development schemes in Central Region Peshawar should be carried out in line with public needs and that field-level monitoring mechanisms be strengthened, adding that regular reporting on the progress of all new schemes must be ensured. He reiterated that PHE is committed to provide maximum relief to the public through the timely completion of development schemes.
