SC seeks compete record, comprehensive report from jail administration
ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court (SC) has sought complete record of the meetings and comprehensive report in connection with the case related to meetings arranged with PTI founder in jail.
The court has directed jail administration to file requisite record and a comprehensive report within 3 weeks.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Muhammad Ali Mirza took up the case for hearing.
During the hearing of the case Advocate General (AG) Islamabad took the plea time be given for submitting comprehensive report in the case.
The court gave time of 3 weeks for filing report.
While raising objection over maintainability of the petitions during hearing of the petition Additional Advocate General Punjab Wasim Mumtaz said Punjab government has objection over hearing of the petitions while appeal cannot be filed against unanimous decision of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked the court should be told how many meetings have taken place, when the meeting were held and the persons who met him. A complete and comprehensive report be filed in this regard.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mirza further remarked IHC was assured that no media talk would be held outside jail.
He inquired is talking to media outside jail not violation of this assurance.
Suleman Akram Raja counsel for PTI founder said the order of IHC was not unanimous.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mirza said if the decision was not unanimous then review petition could be filed against it in high court.
The SC while directing Jail administration for filing detailed report about meetings in jail and complete record within three weeks adjourned the hearing of the case.
