THATTA: Several employees who employed by NGO medical emergency resilience foundation MERF staged a demonstration in protest againist sindh government’s recent announcement and purpose to end contractship with MERF that has owned the approximately 13 hospitals of Thatta and Sujawl district’s. The employees took out rally and held a demonstration outside Makli civil hospital and protested againist the Sindh government announcement for not extending contract with MERF ,that is nearly to end by next August. The Speakers including Dr Roma Abasi,Dr Bachul ,Dr Shaheen,Abdul Waheed Khushik, Abdul Aziz Gandro and others said some 600 employees included doctors ,paramedics, technicians, Nurses,sweepers and others have been working from the last 5 years in the district hospitals as after employed by the MERF but resently Sindh government’s a announcement regarding to end contract with MERF has jolted their hearts and losing a risk their livelihoods.
They said they are performing full time duty as honestly therfore heir hard working has improved the condition of both Thattaand Sujawal hospitals ,they demanded of the higher authorities to extend MREF contract or employ them in government’s health sector.
