Today, at the 70th Independence Day I take the privilege to felicitate the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular. This auspicious occasion of our history reminds us the culmination point of the long era of the cherished movement, replete with great sacrifices laid by the Muslims of the Indian sub-continent for achieving freedom. The day also realizes us the historical beginning of our un-ending journey as an independent nation wherein the recent phase of our national life has proved of much challenging.
This year, the Independence Day carries special importance as millions of our brothers and sisters from different tribal agencies displaced due to un-avoidable circumstances, are in the process to resettle in their abodes. This, indeed is a big challenge that we are confronted with. While extending my deepest felicitations to the countrymen on this auspicious occasion, I take the opportunity to salute the ultimate sacrifices of tribesmen and personnel of Pak Army and law enforcing agencies who are trying their level best to restore peace and stability in the affected areas. We acknowledge their sacrifices with deep regards and are sparing no effort to assist the TDPs in the safe return to homes.
Let me remind the countrymen, that this is the time to be more conscious towards our national goals of making the security and stability of our beloved motherland impregnable; ensure well being and prosperity of the nation and bringing lasting peace in the society. If we feel safe and secured today it is because of the history making sacrifices bearing offered to overcome the confronting challenges.
I must take the opportunity to salute the jawans and officers of the Pak Army who had laid their lives while translating the cherished aims of Zeb-e-Azb in FATA into reality in particular.
Let us join hands once again; maintain complete unity in our ranks and files at every level and ensure continuity of the ongoing efforts for development and prosperity as well as security and defence of the country impregnable.

Mr. Pervez Khatak Chief Minister, KPK

I congratulate the nation on the auspicious occasion of the 69 Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is also a day of happiness – a day of bowing down our heads before almighty ALLAH in thankfulness and a day of renewing our pledge that we will continue to struggle with unity for the objectives, for Pakistan was created.
Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal visualized the dream of a free and independent state for the Muslims of South Asia. Founder of the nation Quiad e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah transformed this dream into reality through a dynamic movement.
Today, we should also remember those great martyrs, who sacrificed their everything and even their lives, Today we ought to go for our self accountability, pondering over what mistakes we committed in the past that we lagged behind our contemporary nations.
We will have to decide either we will ever remain caught-up in disarray, chaos and sloganeering, or will focus our all energies on Pakistan’s development and progress.
With the grace of Almighty ALLAH, the present government is determined to deliver social services specially in health, education and other social sectors to the public. Our government depoliticized public sector institutions making them subservient to the will and expectations of the people. People at grass root level have been empowered to make decisions for themselves. We gave an open and transparent system to deliver.
Today we ought to review our pledge to work hard and achieve the goals, for Pakistan was created. Today we ought to give our people a system that is free from all sort of influence and that leads to good and transparent governance.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, NI(M) Chief of the air Staff, Pakistan Air Force

1. On the momentous occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan, I extend warm greetings to all countrymen and women.
2. This day signifies an epoch-making moment in our history that reminds us of the determined struggle and supreme sacrifices of our forefathers for a separate homeland. In their quest for freedom, the Muslims of the sub-continent stood united under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and bravely faced the daunting odds that came their way. With extraordinary fixity of purpose, they eventually realised their long-wished-for dream of achieving an independent state.
3. While celebrating our nation’s birth with traditional patriotic fervour, we must strive to be worthy of our ancestors’ tremendous sacrifices and prove ourselves true inheritors of the invaluable reward bestowed upon us by Allah Almighty. Undoubtedly, the challenges we are facing today demand unity in our ranks. In these testing times, nothing but a sense of belonging and ownership with the country can inspire feelings of patriotism and self-sacrifice in the service of the nation. We must show compassion for others by being forthcoming and lending a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in distress. Indeed, Pakistan is our identity and through the spirit of nationalism we can promote national unity and supreme loyalty to motherland.
4. This auspicious occasion provides us an opportunity to reflect on our journey since inception, chart our destiny and work with renewed vigour and enthusiasm for peace, progress and prosperity of the country. Certainly, added focus on quality education, together with indigenization will give greater impetus to our progress.
5. I assure you that Pakistan Air Force is ever ready to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemy. PAF’s pivotal role in Operation Zarb-e-Azb is a manifestation to its operational preparedness. No doubt, PAF always provides a level playing field for all and strongly believes in merit and professionalism – the guiding principles that inform all our decisions. May Allah Almighty guide our efforts and give us the strength to safeguard the aerial frontiers of the nation – a commitment to which Pakistan Air Force has always measured up with rare courage all along.
6. I once again wish you all a happy Independence Day.
