Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb — Swat valley lost a visionary, mild-mannered personality

Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb, head of the royal family of Swat, died in the hospital after a tragic traffic accident on his way to Islamabad from Abbottabad yesterday.
The Royal Family of Swat lost a key family personality whose death deprived the valley from a visionary, mild-mannered political and social worker.
He was born in 1961 in the house of Mian Gul Aurangzeb, a former Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Late Adnan Bacha was an engineer by profession, however, he earned a good name spending most of his time in social work and supporting deserving people of Swat.
Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb was the eldest son of former Governor Miangul Aurangzeb and grandson of the last ruler of Swat Mian Gul Jahanzeb.
Late Adnan Bacha was the maternal grandson of former President Ayub Khan.
After being elected as Member of National Assembly in 1997, the late Adnan Bacha launched a number of important projects for the development of Swat.
After the death of his father, Miangul Aurangzeb in 2014, he had been chosen to head the Royal Family and declared,unofficially, as Wali of Swat.
He received his early education from the Swat Sangota School and went to Aitchison College, Lahore for his secondary education.
Adnan Aurangzeb moved to the United States for higher education where he earned a degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.
The late Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb was the brother of Justice Hassan Aurangzeb of Islamabad High Court and Dr Mahmood Aurangzeb, Dean of Khyber Medical University and son-in-law of former Speaker National Assembly Gohar Ayub.
His cousins included the Former Federal Minister Umar Ayub, Former Provincial Minister Local Government KP Akbar Ayub, Provincial Minister Irrigation KP Arshad Ayub PTI leader Yousaf Ayub.
