Minister directs early completion of mega water supply schemes

The provincial minister for Public Health Engineering Shakeel Ahmad Khan has directed the concerned authorities to complete the ongoing mega water supply schemes in the province as soon as possible to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to the people.
He directed the department to present Loghar Dam to Karak City Mega Project Scheme and Atla Dam Swabi Water Scheme in the next meeting.
The provincial minister issued these instructions while presiding over a review meeting of ongoing water supply schemes in the province by the Public Health Engineering department.
Secretary Public Health Engineering Idrees Khan, Chief Engineers, XEN, Technical Staff and other officers attended the meeting, said a handout.
Shakeel Ahmad Khan was briefed on the ongoing water supply schemes about the current progress of the mega water supply schemes being implemented by the department in the province.
The participants of the meeting were also briefed about the overall funds utilized by the department on different developmental schemes.
It was informed that some schemes of solar installation have been completed and works on the remaining in progress.
Provincial Minister Shakeel Ahmad Khan said that work on water supply schemes should be expedited and completed on time.
He said that whatever the problem was in the scheme, it should be resolved immediately. So that mega projects are completed on time in the best interest of the people of the province.
