PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur Sunday expressed heartfelt sorrow over the loss of precious human lives due to torrential rains and snowfall in different parts of the province especially in Galyat, Swat, Dir, merged districts and adjoining tourist destination Murree and directed LG authorities to provide relief to snowfall affectee.
In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the victims and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the grieved families.
Faisal Amin Gandapur also directed the local government and municipal bodies across the province to keep playing vital role side by side with the concerned district administration and rescue personnel in providing relief to the people affected by the snowfall especially in the tourist spots of the province.
He while expressing satisfaction on its sincere efforts, however, appreciated the performance of LG bodies in this respect.
Meanwhile, the LG Minister soon after the onset of heavy snowfall and torrential rains for the past one week, remained in constant touch with concerned district administrations, local government and municipal authorities across the province, especially in remote mountainous and tourist areas and also kept giving them instructions to help affected individuals and families in every possible way.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had issued special instructions to all the provincial ministers in this regard while he himself was constantly monitoring the rescue operations in the affected areas throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
