Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said Saturday that Pakistani nation equally shared the happiness of the Christian community because all minorities have a very important role in the education and development of Pakistan.
According to details, Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw along with the delegation called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his residence and cut the New Year cake.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, while talking on this occasion said that love of the Christian community for the homeland was unforgettable. He said that all religions have complete freedom in Pakistan.
Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw thanked Ch Parvez Elahi and said that for the first time as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Elahi had set up a separate ministry for minorities, returned all Christian institutions and properties, allocated funds in the budget for rehabilitation and repair of churches and give property rights to the slums.
