Miscreants blew up a main gas pipeline in Miryan Kaski Akhundan area of Bannu, disrupting gas supply to the region.
According to police on Monday, miscreants used explosive materials during the night, causing a powerful blast that severely damaged the pipeline. Following the incident gas supply was immediately suspended to prevent further losses and ensure public safety.
Police and officials from relevant departments rushed to the scene after receiving information about the explosion. The area was cordoned off and evidence collection began as part of the investigation.
Police stated that inquiries are underway from multiple angles, while search operations have been launched to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Meanwhile, gas authorities have dispatched repair teams to restore the damaged pipeline. Officials said that gas supply to the affected areas may remain suspended until repair work is completed.
Security agencies have termed the incident an act of sabotage and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
