MITHI: The largest Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant in Asia, located in Mithi, has resumed operations after being inactive for a long time. According to Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering, Muhammad Farukh, the plant was restored under special directives from the Chief Minister of Sindh, Special Assistant Saleem Baloch, and the district administration. He stated that clean and filtered water is now being supplied daily to underprivileged areas of Mithi, especially those lacking water pipelines. Drinking water is being delivered in cans to ensure safe water access for residents. Farukh also confirmed that the RO plant in Chachro has been made operational, while work is in progress at the Islamkot RO plant. Efforts are ongoing to restore and activate all RO plants across Tharparkar district to address the region’s ongoing water crisis. GR Junejo
