MMA competitions to be held across KP: Atif Khan

The provincial minister for sports and youth affairs Atif Khan on Monday said that all necessary arrangements have been made to organize first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competitions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Atif Khan said that KP government would provide all support to young talents participating in the events, adding youth should come forward and shine their skills in the events and lead the province in international comity.
He expressed these views on the occasion of 75th Independence Day program held at Mardan Sports Complex Mardan. Former MNA Mujahid Khan, Member of Provincial Assembly Zahir Shah Turo, Chairman Shaukat Khan, Director General Sport and DSO attended the event.
A number of sportsmen and fans participated, twenty top fighters of KP participated in mixed martial arts competitions.
Atif Khan while addressing the ceremony said that the provincial government will provide entertainment and health to the youth through sports related activities.
We can provide a safe and secure environment to our young generation with the help of sports competitions, he added.
“We need to utilize sports skills in our youth and provide them adequate opportunities to shine the name of our country in the international sports events,” Atif Khan said.
The provincial minister for sports said that mixed Martial arts competitions should now be held every year in the province, adding that various sports activities were also being started at the district level in the entire province.
He claimed that KP was taking all possible steps to provide opportunities for talented youth on their doorsteps.
Later on, Atif Khan distributed prizes among the position holders and cut the Independence Day cake.
It should be noted that the mixed martial arts competitions were jointly organized by the KP Sports Department and the Directorate of Youth Affairs.
