PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sajid Nawaz presents himself before the public to be accountable under the Right to Information Law (RTI Law).
This he stated in a Seminar arranged by Right to Information Commission & Right to Public Services Commission for district councilors of Union Council Mathra here in Ameer Abad Patwar Payan on Monday.
He said that enactment of RTI & RTS Laws is amongst the mega reform initiatives of the incumbent Provincial government.
He urged the public to file RTI requests and prove them to be enlightened citizens of the community.
Chief Information Commissioner RTI, Azmat Hanif Orakzai addressing to the councilors stated that they should aware themselves about RTS & RTI Laws as they are the public office bearers and they have to present these laws to general masses in their own capacities.
He vowed that to kick off awareness campaign in other parts of the province so as to empower the citizens with the basic human right of information and knowing. On the occasion, Mr. Shah Sahib, Right to Services Commissioner was also present. He gave a detail presentation of RTS law and told the elected members that RTS covers 16 different public services. These services include Registration of FIR, Issuance of Birth/death certificates, Driving license, arms license etc. In order to aware the public about the government initiatives, the RTI & RTS Commissions shall hold public awareness seminars throughout the province in the best public interest.
