A monthly free medical camp for epilepsy patients was organized in Bahadurabad under the auspices of Epilepsy Foundation Pakistan. The camp was held in collaboration with Genetics Pharma.
The President of the Foundation and renowned neurologist of the country, Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, along with Dr. Asfand Niazi, conducted detailed check-ups of the patients. Needy patients attending the camp were also provided with free medicines, blood pressure check-ups, and medical test facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui said that epilepsy is a treatable brain disorder which, unfortunately, is still surrounded by superstitions in our country.
She said that mental stress has become a deep psychological anguish today, with major causes including domestic and social pressures, economic problems, and chemical changes in the body.
She further added that the primary objective of this monthly camp is to provide free and quality treatment to patients who cannot afford it, and to create accurate awareness among the public about epilepsy.
