Several matches have been decided wherein Shaheen FC Islamabad, and Dara 90 recorded victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Peshawar Premier Football League Season-I being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Wednesday.
Former International Footballer and FIFA Referee Qazi Asif was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the matches the players were introduced to him. Chairman Organizing Committee Khalid Khan, officials and a large number of spectators were also present.
In the first match played between Khyber Markhor and Buner Red was tied with two goals each wherein both played well and gave each other a tough fight. Khyber Markhor first took the lead in the very 5th minute when Adeel netted a fine goal to give his team a timely lead. In the 13th minute Buner tied the lead through another fine move made by right winger Haris who travelled past three defenders before giving a good cross in front of the goal mouth and Bilal did nothing wrong in dispatching it into the goal post to tie the tally 1-1.
In the 21st minute Khyber Markhor through another vital attack, this time from the left winger Aftab and he after dodging two defenders successfully netted a fine goal to make the tally 2-1. Soon after taking the lead Buner Red team leveled the tally again through center striker Ihtisham Ud Din on the field attempt.
At the end of the first session both Khyber Markhor and Buner Red tied at 2-2. It was the second session in which both Markhor and Buner Red players tried their hardest to take any lead but they failed as the defense line of both the teams defended their goal-post and did not allow the strikers to get any lead. Thus the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
In the second match was played between Darah 90 and SDFC teams, in which the Dara Adam Khail 90 team won the match 2-0. Dara Adam Khan 90 team succeeded in scoring the first goal through Ibrahim and Sajid Khan doubled the lead through a field attempt. SD FC team’s players tried their hardest to reduce the margin but they failed due to tight marking by Dara 90 defenders.
In the third match played between FC Kohat and Shaheen Club from Islamabad, in which Shaheen FC Islamabad recorded 2-0 victory. The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw and it was the second session in which Shaheed Club Islamabad scored two goals through Muneeb Khan, the inner striker and center striker Mohsin. FC Kohat is a good team but it failed to reduce the margin and thus Islamabad Shaheen won the match by 2-0.
