1,230 youngsters to be given scholarship in technical education: CS KP
PESHAWAR
The Higher Education Department (HED), Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) and Kohat Divisions Development Project (KDDP) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the provision of scholarships to as many as 1230 youngsters from Kohat, Karak and Hangu in technical education courses.
The ceremony was also attended by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash and Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, said a handout.
The MoU will facilitate the students of the above-mentioned districts for acquiring scholarships which include tuition fee, books, library cost, and boarding.
The students would also be entitled for a monthly stipend during the study for various diplomas and certificates, it added. The departments concerned have allocated Rs349 million for the program.
As per details, the HERA will facilitate KDDP scholars in the field of diploma and certificate courses in the field of health, technical education, mobile repairing and other holistic digital skills while, HED will facilitate the KDDP Scholars in the field of petroleum and gas engineering, energy and power, nursing.
The MoU documents were signed by Fazal Qadir and Asmat Ullah Project Director KDDP while the MoU of HED was signed by Dawood Khan and Asmat Ullah Project Director KDDP.
CS-KP Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash appreciated the efforts of the concerned departments for providing technical education to the students in the technical education sector.
