Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare and member of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Board, MPA Madame Syeda Rukhsana Shah, paid a surprise visit to Civil Hospital Thatta on Saturday and expressed serious dissatisfaction after finding the doors of a key medical unit closed during official duty hours.
During the inspection, she questioned why the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) unit had not been made fully operational despite repeated directives.
She instructed the concerned officials to remove all administrative hurdles and ensure the unit becomes functional without any further delay. She also directed the District Health Officer (DHO) and MERF representatives to take immediate steps to improve the hospital’s overall environment and make it more patient-friendly.
Syeda Rukhsana Shah visited several other departments, including the laboratory, and stressed that every department must remain fully functional during working hours.
She urged the hospital management to guarantee the provision of complete medical facilities to patients, warning that negligence in public healthcare services would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
