LAHORE
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, National Heritage and Culture Engineer Amir Muqam Sunday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and gave a detailed briefing about the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, the issues pertaining to the National Heritage and Culture Division were discussed, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
They also exchanged views on the overall political situation of the country and other issues of mutual interest.
The prime minister directed for expediting the public contact campaign and effective utilization of the digital technology with responsibility in this regard.
He also appreciated the steps taken by Amir Muqam for strengthening of PML-N in the province at the grassroots level.
‘Freedom of expression is distinction of civilized nations’
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the violence by PTI workers against journalists in Lahore, and assured that the government would take all possible measures to protect journalists.
In a statement on Sunday, the Pakistani Prime Minister said freedom of expression is the distinction of civilized nations.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has poisoned the youth with intolerance and chaos and whoever questions him, he is tortured. He said during Imran Khan’s government, the incidents of cruelty against journalists were rampant.
Shehbaz Sharif said the whole nation salutes the journalists who fell victim to the brutality of PTI in Lahore. He lauded all the journalists who, despite challenges, are telling the truth to the nation.
