ISLAMABAD: Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Syed Murtaza Mahmud has appreciated the Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy and stressed for facilitating the sector to start motherboard assembly in Pakistan by next year. The minister said this while chairing a briefing session on Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy 2020 on Friday. The minister emphasised the need for establishing a research and development centre for transfer of technology and skill development pertaining to the mobile manufacturing sector. He said this would enhance the footprint of the mobile manufacturing industry in a competitive export market. Earlier, the minister was given a briefing that the policy aims at encouraging and attracting mobile manufacturers to establish their units in Pakistan. TLTP
