Murtaza Shah Dadahi laid to rest

Hyderabad: Renowned lyrical poet of Sindh Syed Murtaza Shah Dadahi passed away following a prolonged illness in a hospital of Hyderabad at the age of 81. The seasoned poet penned down around six books comprising different genres of his marvelous poetry. In recognition of his remarkable services in the field of literature, he was bestowed with a number of awards including the President Pride of Performance Award in the year 2017. Syed Murtaza Shah earned fame owing to his unique way of poetry that was a source of encouragement and solace for the downhearted souls of our society. Many singers of Sindh have sung his poetry prominent among those are Abida Parveen, Seengar Ali Saleem, Fozia Soomro, and Sadiq Faqeer. His poem “Zaher Khe B Zam Zam” took him to new heights of fame. A large number of people hailing from different sheds of life attended the funeral of the great poet. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard located in the outskirts of Tando Allahyar town.
