Mustaq Ghani orders to reconstitute ICU board of management committee

Acting Governor Mustaq Ahmad Ghani on Tuesday directed the quarters concerned to reconstitute the board of management committee of Islamia College University (ICU) Peshawar.
The board of management committee is mandated to oversee the overall affairs of land holding and commercial properties of Islamia College at different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The special meeting, which was chaired by Acting Governor KP Mustaq Ahmad Ghani, discussed in detail the properties owned by Islamia College University.
Advocate General KP Shumail Ahmad Butt also attended the meeting, said handout issued by Governor House Peshawar.
The meeting discussed the legal issues related to properties owned by Islamia College University Peshawar in Peshawar, Charsadda, Harichand and Swabi districts.
Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani directed the university that the committee board of management should be reconstituted at the university level to allocate new rent for the property owned by Islamia College University.
The Acting Governor directed the concerned authorities to include Secretary Law Secretary, Secretary and a retired judge who has been a former student of Islamia College should be included in the board of management committee with approval of the next syndicate meeting.
Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that a legal team should be hired before any decision regarding property rents.
He also directed the Advocate General KP to guide the preparation of the legal forum.
Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that any further action should be avoided without the approval of the legal forum.
The Acting Governor also directed the Vice Chancellor to present all the details of the property of Islamia College in the upcoming meeting of the University Senate.
Secretary Planning and Development Shah Mehmood, Special Secretary Higher Education Rashid Khan Pinedakhel, Acting Principal Secretary to Governor Saiful Islam, University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Gul Majeed Khan, representatives of SMBR, Commissioner Peshawar and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar and Charsadda attended the meeting.
